This shot shows more of the insect. Seemed very frail for a mantis but I am no expert. Your continued assistance would be appreciated. The nymph you show is far more stocky than this was

I agree that this is a mantis of some sort...
... however, one of these might be a better fit than Carolina mantis. It's hard to tell without being able to see the whole insect.
