Vegetable Planthopper Nymph -
Jikradia olitoria
Jupiter, Florida, USA
June 25, 2004
This juvenile planthopper was taken on a Sea Grape tree at the
Blowing Rocks Preserve
. The tree was infested with many species of planthoppers. The color on it is just amazing.

I've seen these but in the color white. Are they the same species?

Coelidia olitoria ssp.?
Subspecies floridana was the only one supposed to be found in Florida, but someone found the intermediate form this far south, so we really can't tell which this nymph might represent.
