Hyalophora euryalus - Ceanothus Silk Moth - Hyalophora euryalus

Size: ca. 1.5" in length
I'm no entomologist, but I'd put my money on this fellow being a Ceanothus Silk Moth (Hyalophora euryalus).

tentatively, yes, this is what it should be
H. columbia occurs not far to the east, and looks very similar.
