Bruchinae > ? - Stylantheus macrocerus

Bruchinae > ? - Stylantheus macrocerus
4 mi NE of Wilburton, on US 270 W, Latimer County, Oklahoma, USA
May 17, 2010
Size: 2.3mm
Net sweep, roadside flowers. Very long ant on what sure looks Bruchinae'ish to me.
Tried keying out in (1) but kept getting lost. Hind femur is not markedly
swollen and tarsal claws are connate/divergent. I could see no pronotal tooth. There is
a row of denticles on the ventromesal margin of hind femur, and what I think is a single
tooth (w/o angulation) on the ventrolateral margin. A single long tibial spur on the
hind legs. Still looks like a Bruchinae. Assistance greatly appreciated.

Moved from ID Request.

Stylantheus
Thanks -v-: Got hung up on keys 8 & 9, didn't carry it out far
enough because the 10th and 13th keys sure describe it very well as
does the species text in (1). Thanks again.
