Female Dobsonfly?
I'd imagine with all the rivers being swollen around there, Dobsonflies will be numerous. Females and larvae can deliver nasty bites (AKA "Hellgrammites", a popular river-fish bait), but the males HUGE tusks are pretty much just for show. Watch your fingers!

Someone else may be able to further tell you about it. I could possibly be wrong and it might be a Fishfly, but those look like the jaws of a f. Dobsonfly.

Fishfly, I think.
Compare the jaws and antennae...

That looks a lot more like it. It didn't have Dobsonfly-esque big jaws. The attenae looked rather moth-like to my uneducated eye.

I thought it might be something like that. It didn't look scary but as I didn't know what it could do, I treated with a little care. As far as rivers being swollen...we are actually in a minidrought, it hasn't rained all that much other than scattered showers the last month and a half.
