From Dick Wilson's excellent reference set, I suspect this is a Labrador Carpet (Xanthorhoe labradorensis). See, Dick, I can be taught new tricks. :) Thanks for the address. Efficient handy way to check for moths. Before that, if I took the time, I was scanning through *ALL* the images here on BugGuide by you, John Davis, and the Avises. The Flickr album is *much* handier!

Have also used both John & Dick's Flickr sites, but my first stopping point is always John Davis's pages on the Moth Photographers Group - you get there via Contributors Pages on the main menu. Really narrows things down for our area!
