Red Wasp - Polistes - Female
New Market, Madison County, Alabama, USA

I've always known these as red wasps. They make huge nests in our attic every year. Very large combs about the size of my head. I have been stung many times so I know they have a very painful sting. I've always been curious about what species this is. Anybody know?
