Is this a butterfly larva? If so what kind? We plant parsley for the butterflys to use but this year they did not use it and ate the Penta plant, leaves and flowers. Thanks, Mickey

 
Moth caterpillar...
Sphinx moths can be large, and often have high rates of wing beats which make them look like hummingbirds. If they become a nuisance to your plants, just hand picking them and putting them in a wild area is best. They can be little piggies!
