funnel web spider - Eratigena duellica - female

funnel web spider - Eratigena duellica - Female
Earthworks Park, Kent, King County, Washington, USA
August 19, 2010
Size: approx. 4 cm leg span
...Found this spidie in some rocks where there were several other messy sheet webs with funnels. I "teased" it out of its funnel with a stalk of dried grass to take pics. Grass spider? Hobo? ツ

Moved
Moved from ID Request. I believe this is Tegenaria gigantea, a relative of the Hobo Spider. It is not dangerous and will actually compete with the Hobo. I have a lot of these in my yard, so I'm fairly familiar with them. However, keep in mind that an expert probably wouldn't ID this past genus level without seeing the reproductive parts under a microscope.
