Fingered Dagger larva -
Acronicta insita
Town of Baileys Harbor, Hidden Corners Sanctuary, Door County, Wisconsin, USA
September 6, 1997
5th instar larva eating Willow (Salix). Pupated September 7, 1997, overwintered in fruit cellar. Eclosed May 8, 1998.

Handsome caterpillar
Hi Janice,
I think your larva/imago series is great stuff. The most obvious question to anyone with the slightest interest in insects is "What will this caterpillar become?" Your series will give many the answer to that question.
