dark brown mayfly - Leptophlebia

dark brown mayfly - Leptophlebia
Ailsa Craig, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada
May 10, 2005
Size: body 10-12 mm
on our porch; presumably Leptophlebiidae - similar to the images here except the middle tail isn't as short

Thanks, Lloyd
Moved from Pronggilled Mayflies to Leptophlebia.

Black Quill
This is a male subimago of the genus Leptophlebia. Size and the shorter, thinner middle filament (tail) help to distinguish this genus from Paraleptophlebia.
