Size: Medium size Odonata
This dragonfly was photographed among vegetation on the north eastern shore of Luther Lake. It is probably an immature and judging by the eye colour I think it might be a species of Emerald.

Emerald family Corduliidae
but not one of the Somatochlora emeralds. male Spiny Baskettail - Epitheca spinigera. You can just make out the spine on the left cercus.
