Bee or Fly? - Anthidium manicatum

Bee or Fly? - Anthidium manicatum
Worthington, Franklin County, Ohio, USA
August 15, 2010
I'm not sure if this is a bee or fly- There are two individuals here, I assume the male is on top, while the female is on the bottom.

Not an id
but maybe wool carder bee?

Just what I was thinking

Must be something in that neighborhood, at least.

Thanks!
That sure does look good to me- It was nectaring on blue flowers (Lobelia syphilitica) just like the guide describes.

Thank you!
