Spikey Fly - Tachina

Spikey Fly - Tachina
Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, Schumaker Bay BIrd Sanctuary, British Columbia, Canada
June 17, 2010
Size: 5/8 "
We found this strange, gargantuan fly hopping around in the gravel pathway. It appeared undamaged but unable to fly. I've never seen such a huge fly before -- it was at least three times the size of a house fly.
