Uroctonites huachuca - female

Uroctonites huachuca - Female
Carr Canyon, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 11, 2010
Size: ~5cm w/tail
Found under rock at bottom of the canyon in grassy clearing adjacent to riparian vegetation

SWEEEET!!!!
Awesome, Alice! I am 98% certain this is Uroctonites huachuca. The only way to tell for sure that it is not Pseudouroctonus apacheanus is to examine the soles of the tarsi, which will be armed with large, spinoid setae if Uroctonites. I am going on the texture of the surface, waxy, not shagreened as in Pseudouroctonus.
