Ant Mimic True Bug - Hyalymenus longispinus

Ant Mimic True Bug - Hyalymenus longispinus
St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
March 11, 2006

Unfortunately, these things would not stop moving, so I could not get a good image of a nymph.

We found a similar species
here in Illinois, that was Id'd as Alydidae, Broad headed bug. Lots of images in the guide here. It will be fascinating to see if these really are nymph and adult!
