Are some wasps bad nest builders?
...it doesn't seem to have any 'channels' that I see on most of the other photos.

Not bad at all
In fact, they are extremely smart. She is finished with the individual tubes and is disguising them by plastering extra mud around them. Nice photos :)
That is a good question, Nancy. I used to wonder the same thing (why mud nests sometimes seem to have no visible chambers)
