What spider please
Toledo Botanic Gardens, lucas County, Ohio, USA

Size: Tiny
This egg sac was only inches from the spider. It is an egg sac isn't it?

Moved from Uloborus.
Bowl and doily spider is an interesting possibility. I don't think I've seen a description for egg sacs of that species, but other linyphiids are known to make fluffy white egg sacs.

oops...
Thanks for moving this one Charley.

Egg sac
This is a spider egg sac, but it doesn't belong to that spider if the spider is Uloborus, as it seems like it may be. Was the web horizontal?

Hi Charley . . .
The web is just a titch off vertical. That egg sac is less than a foot away, but the rest of the birds nest spruce is covered with bowl and doily spiders.

Update: So now I'm reading in one of the comments about Uloborus that the webs are always horizontal. Good grief. I'm going to have to go check this out again, but honestly - it sure seemed more vertical than horizontal.
