Bombus affinis

Bombus affinis
Newport, Washington County, Minnesota, USA
August 19, 2010
Bombus affinis, as ID'd by Sarina Jepsen of xerces.org. Found foraging with B. impatiens on my blue anise hyssop (Agastache sp.).

As of 8/24/10, I have not seen this individual for several days; however, the previous couple weeks, I'd find this bee predictably on the hyssop spikes.
I'll try to get a few more shots uploaded.

Bumble Bee
Wow! What a great find. This species of Bumble Bee is very rare now.
