Closer?
Can this be cropped closer to show the head and pronotum larger?

and/or

Can another shot be cropped closer to allow counting of antenna segments? This guy, for example, has a 13-segmented flagellum putting him outside of the Chironomus group (which has 11 segments in the male flagellum).

None of my shots are as clear as yours, but I found 5 possible shots which I blew up to full size and then cropped to just show the antennae and pronotum. Having never counted segments in a male midge flagellum before, I'm not sure if *any* of these will work for that. I put the shots here:

http://daredevil.dreamhost.com/bugguide/

Let me know if any of them help and I should post that shot on BugGuide with the rest or not. (And...um...thanks! I'm starting to try and get better shots of the genitalia, wing venation, and antennae for you. More to come!)
