Bee-like Robber Fly - Laphria astur - Female
Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne County, California, USA
August 20, 2010
Size: about 2-3 cm
This fly landed on a shoe, but appeared to be laying eggs in crack in an old lodgepole log.
