Mystery butterfly - Neonympha

Mystery butterfly - Neonympha
Abita Creek Flatwoods Preserve, Abita Springs, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 25, 2010

Based on location, it ought to be
N. areolatus, but it really looks like N. helicta, and that's the direction I'm leaning. I'm putting under the genus for "safe keeping" until some more people weigh in.

Moved from Butterflies (excluding skippers).

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

I would suggest
Georgia Satyr (Neonympha areolata) or Helicta Satyr (Neonympha helicta)
It may not be either of these, but it might get you started in the right direction.

Thank you
The "butterfly guy" down the street from me (Vernon Antoine Brou, Jr.,) narrowed it down to Neonympha areolata.
Take care!
