spider wasp - Entypus unifasciatus - female

spider wasp - Entypus unifasciatus - Female
Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, USA
A couple years ago, I photographed this wasp pulling a spider across the backyard.

Moved

Entypus unifasciatus.
This is most likely a female specimen of Entypus unifasciatus, a relatively large pompilid that is common over much of the eastern U.S. The orange spot on the forewing is pretty diagnostic for this species.

Maybe
a Pepsis? with a large wolf spider.

Nice.
What a great shot!
