Satyr? - Megisto rubricata

Satyr? - Megisto rubricata
Stillhouse nature Preserve, Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
August 26, 2010
I saw the eyespots from a distance and assumed a Buckeye, very common in these parts, but closer examination suggests that it is not a Buckeye at all. The closest match I found in the guide was the Red Satyr (Megisto rubricata). The area was heavily wooded (oak and juniper cedar)
