Size: Approx. 2 1/2"
Large Dragonfly, had no fear of me. Hovered around and was still for long periods of time.

Libellulid
This is a dragonfly in the family Libellulidae - commonly called skimmers.

Eight spotted skimmer
The wing marking is not correct for Common Whitetail, but matches up perfectly with the Eight-spotted Skimmer. Thanks.
