unknown spider - Neoscona crucifera

nocturnal, has been building web the past few nights in same spot, approx. 3m above ground under loblolly pine canopy. obviously, the fishing's pretty good there. she (presumed) and the web disappear before dawn.

This looks like Neoscona crucifera, but it has so much black pigment we're wondering if it might be something else.

if this one's much help, but here's another. taken later in the eve (0508hrs this a.m.) guess she was closing up shop.

does look right. I wonder if it could be domiciliorum? It has such red legs and dark markings.

it was colored quite differently (and a little larger, i think) from the normally gray ones all over the place hereabouts. its web was much larger, and in a more open space than where what i presume the N. crucifera webs are usually found.
