Size: 2 inches
I have found this insect crawling slowly around my 2nd floor inside the house and it flies. I finally saw one outside yesterday. Can anyone tell me what it is?

This is a pretty amazing image
especially when viewed at the full 1600 pixel. We can see the hairs on the antenna base segments! How about cropped and rotated?

yes it is,
and this guy, and probably many others, are overwintering in your house enjoying the heat in it. since spring is about to come (march 20th) they are about to leave soon and continue their happy lives.
imagine if every overwintering insect helped with the heating bill...

This is one of those insects that I don't remember ever seeing as a kid but now they seem very common. I think they've spread into the area in the last couple decades.
