Adorable Fuzzy Little Moth -
Megalopyge opercularis
Silsbee, within the Big Thicket, Hardin County, Texas, USA
August 1, 2010
Size: about 1 inch long
I see these all the time.
They are so cute and fuzzy.
Can someone please tell me what their name is?

looked him up like you recommended
I looked this little beauty up, like you advised, and YES! I remember the caterpillars well! I got stung by one as a child and have been fearful of asps ever since. It's almost a shame they turn into such beautiful little moths because most people around here smush asps (sorry - I know that's horrible, but it is true) on sight.
