New Mantis - Mantis religiosa

New Mantis - Mantis religiosa
Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York, USA
August 31, 2010
This mantis appears to be newly emerged because the wings are curled but I don't know if it is new or perhaps just molted. Any ideas?? and what about the color??

Mantis religiosa
This is a European mantis. I'd suspect this is a new adult, having recently shed the exoskeleton of its final nymph instar.
