Diptera - Juriniopsis adusta

Size: 3/4" est.
6:00 PM, on mint, 70 deg. F, windy, clear
I'm certain this is a fly because it has one pair of wings, compound eyes, and I believe there are "halteres". I checked BG pics and can't get it any more specific than Diptera. The dorsal view is included only to show the wings - it should probably go into frass and is only posted in case it helps with ID.

I'm convinced it's Peleteria
That's based on other BG posts, including my own, and I'm no expert. I'd say you should leave your post here a couple of days and, receiving no objections, move it to Peleteria.

That looks promising
I'm moving it to Tachinidae » Tachininae » Polideini » Hystricia - quite similar and the map shows it as being in PA in September.
