Harmonia axyridis? - Harmonia axyridis

Harmonia axyridis? - Harmonia axyridis
Sharon, Windsor County, Vermont, USA
February 25, 2006
I'm pretty sure this is Harmonia axyridis - Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle. There were quite a few in the house, with wide variation in color and pattern details. Is there anything else it could be confused with?

Harmonia
The Harmonia is the only Ladybug that will voluntary enter houses, usually in autumn. Its a normal behavior, they are looking for a place to spend winter.

Its easy to tell apart from other beetle with the W on the pronuntum. If you have too much beetle in the house, the only way to get rid of it is by the vacuum cleaner. You should also try to find how they enter your house and seal-it.
