Size: Large for a wasp
Hope this is not a double post but I uploaded yesterday but it doesn't show. If it is a double my apologies.

I'm guessing this wasp is laying eggs?????

The similar appearing Megarhyssa greenei doesn't occur in New Mexico, so it is Megarhyssa macrurus.
