Solenopsis molesta takes flight - Solenopsis molesta - Female

Size: worker 1.5, queen 4 mm
Anax junius swooping down over a spot in the grass from whence these tiny ants were flying clued me in to their presence late yesterday afternoon. Here a queen sniffs the air before discarding a fair quantity of liquid and taking flight.
