Sphinx poecila - Northern Apple Sphinx - Hodges #7810.1
Moved from Sphinx Moths.

The two species do overlap in parts of the north. Sphinx poecila has black and white checkered fringe on the forewing and the fringe of S. gordius is mainly black with very little white.
