Wierd...
This is a mesostig... and looks like a podocinid to me, which are not parasitic. Was this guy attached to the crane fly, or just crawling around?

I have pictures of it in different places on the crane fly's abdomen.

 
Ah.
Makes a lot more sense. I'm putting my money on Podocinidae, just accidentally (or maybe even phoretically) on the crane fly... not parasitic.
