Not at all dangerous to you or your children
or your pets, unless you have a pet fly or grasshopper. All Orb Weavers are harmless and beneficial, eating plenty of pesky bugs. If the position by the back door is troublesome, just trap her in a jar with an index card and move her away from the door, maybe near a light on the garage. She'll be happy to collect all the bugs that are attracted to the light.
