Is this Platynota flavedana, the Black-shaded Platynota Moth, also known as Variegated Leafroller ?

If so, could this be the first California record ?

It looks like Platynota sultana sports a wide variety of appearances, including a P. flavedana disguise.

I live in Brooklyn and, yes, most of my photos are from the NYC area although that has changed in the last couple years. I probably shoot more Crawford County, PA, and Knox County, ME, these days.

BTW - I agree that it looks like Platynota flavedana but seems out of range and I couldn't find any exact matches in that species or anywhere else.
