This horntail wasp showed up in my truck cab as I was driving into town.

ID obtained from the following website. "Guide to the Siricid Wood Wasps of North America" a PDF document with excellent color photos and ID info on the Wood Wasps of North America. Pages 83-85 cover this species - Xeris morrisoni indecisus.

My thanks to the Contributing Editor for a new Guide page once ID confirmed!

please note taxonomic change (upgraded species level)

This is correct for what we currently call Xeris morrisoni indecisus (MacGillivray).

thanks, Dave
