Another Flesh Fly - Sarcophaga

Another Flesh Fly - Sarcophaga
Rattan Creek Park, Williamson County, Texas, USA
September 16, 2010
Size: .5-.75"
This fly would not consent to being shot from the back or front. It was a larger than the other fly submitted and the thoracic stripes were narrower and better defined. The area was flooded after T.S. Hermine and has not yet returned to normal.

a few practical/technical points:
[1] there's no point in leaving ANY pictures in ID Request for over 72 hrs: experts hardly ever go past the most recent few pages anyway...
[2] make sure to move your pix out of ID Request once a satisfactory ID has been obtained -- otherwise they clog the ID Request, which is why most experts are reluctant to ever go there
[3] post all flies to the Diptera page: this will get you IDs faster, as our dipterists look for BG work there rather than in ID Request
[4] refer to this forum thread for more recommendations

Moved from ID Request.
