Alleculine larva? - Synchroa punctata

Alleculine larva? - Synchroa punctata
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
March 18, 2006
Size: 19 mm
I think this larval type belongs to the tenebrionid subfamily Alleculinae. I've reared lots of alleculines, but have not taken before-and-after photos of a single individual. If this one matures, it can be added to our growing set of positive larva IDs.

Sure not!
All Alleculine larvae I know look similar to the "mealworm" (Tenebrio).

If this larva was found in a gallery in rotting wood, my guess would be Melandryidae.

cheers, Boris
