SMALL & SLENDER - Philanthus gibbosus

SMALL & SLENDER - Philanthus gibbosus
Greenville, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA
September 16, 2010
Size: ~ 7/16"
This was feeding on the Sedum in my yard, along with various species of bees. It is smaller than a Honey bee. It seems like a wasp, but I couldn't get a look at its "waist".
It flew rapidly around flowers and moved very quickly when on the flowers. I was pleased to get a good view of the mouthparts, as I'm hoping this will help in determining what it is.
