large fishing spider -
Dolomedes okefinokensis
-
Size: over 1 inch
Taken at the Bug Blast in Seattle. I was surprised how large this spider was. I'd like to confirm that this is the largest Dolomedes species, but I can't find that in writing in any scientific source.

Location
Was this one in an aquarium at the zoo or did it somehow get transported to the Pac. NW? Isn't this species only known from Georgia and Florida?

Yes collected in the southeast
That's why there is no location given for the data map. I was taking this for use as an image of the spider's pattern.

Ah, ok
I didn't know they had spiders at the zoo! I guess I need to make a trip there... haven't been since I was a little kid.

No not the zoo
This was from the Bug Blast and was brought in by Peter Clausen or Seattle Bug Safari ... I can't remember which.
