P. planus or something else? - Pytho americanus

P. planus or something else? - Pytho americanus
Windham, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
March 24, 2006
I separated out two planus-like pythids that had significantly darker undersides than the rest of the Pytho planus specimens. Could they be a different species or is this just normal variability?

Both the green and blue beetles had undersides this dark. I have a shot of both upsidedown side-by-side, but it's a bit blurry. Which one this is I can't tell.
