On the wing of an airplane (not in flight) at an airshow. Probably the only one there noticing insects.

Definitely a Meadow Katydid,
and I would agree that genus Conocephalus is probably correct. This one is a female, and if you have a side view that shows the ovipositor, that would help to identify the species (probably).

i think it's a Lesser Meadow Katydid
Genus Conocephalus, but I'm not positive. Someone else can tell you for sure. We have a grasshopper and katydid expert.
