A permanent slide was prepared of the genitalia. The subgenital plate has narrow terminally pigmented arms that curve inward and a flat truncated posterior margin like that in Fig. 202 in Mockford 1993. The 9th sternum has a flattened oval pigmented area surrounding the spermapore as in Fig 642 in same reference. Females of L. penta and L. tropica are very similar in appearence and both occur on branches with persistend dead leavea, but can be distinguished by the subgenital plate.
