Explanation of Names

Lachesilla penta Sommerman 1946

Identification

Subgenital plate has narrow terminally pigmented arms that curve inward and a flat truncated posterior margin like that in Fig. 202 in(1); sternum 9 w/flattened oval pigmented area surrounding the spermapore [Fig. 642(1)]; females of L. penta and L. tropica are very similar in appearance and both occur on branches with persistent dead leaves, but can be distinguished by the subgenital plate.
