Deleting ghost accounts

When I originally subscribed to BG, I first did so under user name "Edward L Ruden". The email address I used must have been bad and I lost the password, and cannot reset it. I resubscribed under "Edward Ruden" (which I use now), but original "Edward L Ruden" account is still out there (it comes up when I search for Ruden under users). For the sake of tidyness, how can this ghost account be deleted?

Deleting
I'm hardly knowledgeable about such matters, but when you go to "Your account", there is a "Delete this account" option. Have you tried that?

The problem is that he can't go to that acount
because he doesn't have the password. What Edward is trying to do would be like you or us trying to delete someone else's account. We don't think it can be done without the password.

But, Edward, you should be able to get the password to your old account by contacting John VanDyk, or trying to open the old account under the old name and saying that you forgot your password. Then you can open and delete the old account.

Bad email address prevents password reset
I tried having it email me a new password, but that assumes the email address the account was created under is still good. Since I never received a new password to any of my current email addresses, I assume the address used is bad or obsolete. I will contact John VanDyk, per suggestion.
