"I do not recognize this stink bug. I have collected A. cynicus 5ths, which have the general shape of your specimen, but they were completely brown. Don Thomas may recognize it."

"I agree that it is a species of Apoecilus. There are three species in the US, but one, invarius, is southern. That leaves cynicus and bracteatus within the range. Whatever it is, I am impressed that it could sneak up on a fly."
