It was hanging from a line of silk in heavily wooded driveway . It landed on my car.Cannot find anything on the internet or in Wagner guide .

Too many pair of abdominal prolegs
for Geometridae. This looks like it might be one of the Catocala or some close relative. How about Allotria, Wagner pg 357?

Forgot to mention
I first thought it was a two toned caterpillar but decided that it was the sun shining on it that gave it this appearance .
