Centruroides exilicauda - Centruroides sculpturatus - female

Centruroides exilicauda - Centruroides sculpturatus - Female
Yuma, Yuma County, Arizona, USA
Size: 55 mm
Family: Buthidae
Genus: Centruroides
species: exilicauda
Distribution: W New Mexico, throughout Arizona, S Utah, S Nevada, extreme E/SE California, into Sonora and Baja California in Mexico.

The American (and Sonoran) form of this species was previously known as C. sculpturatus. The Baja California form, which has a disjunct distribution, is the original C. exilicauda. Studies are in progress that might resurrect C. sculpturatus.

This species has been known to be lethal, except in Baja.

Is that a possible C. exilica
Is that a possible C. exilicauda gertschi morph? Ive never seen a exilicauda with striping on the tergites before... Looks like a Centruroides vittatus????

"Intergrade"
Well, it's an "intergrade", in life the specimen was much more pale and the striping extremely faint. I couldn't find the original photo, so this is from my website!
I will try to get some photos of "gertschi" which are more common in mountainous areas. They can be quite attractive!
